ST JOHNSTONE....

On Monday we travelled down to Perth...My son Morgan has just signed for St Johnstone Pro-Youth U15s (he's a goalkeeper and at 14 is already taller than me and just about as tall as his dad!)...we are very proud of him and his footballing achievements!!

He has played for Dyce Boys Club for the last 18 months or so and they have done fantastically well this season winning all but the Scottish Cup...he was awarded Players' Player last week at their presentation. Two of his team mates Elliot and Josh have also signed...

Congratulations to them all and very well deserved!

QUIRKY...

I was on Facebook the other day and a post came up for a card using a Stampotique stamp and some washi tape, it reminded me of some monster cards I did a while ago using the Hero Arts monster digi stamps and lots of splattered paint...

And this is what I came up with...I used Dylusion Inks to make the splatter this time...The Lovely Girl one has already gone and I'm going to use the Birthday Girl one for Niamh as it's her 8th birthday on Thursday!

Enjoy the sunshine if you have it...a couple more dance classes and that's us officially on summer holidays...off to meet up with Sonja this afternoon.

Teacher Thank You...

In most parts of Scotland I think this is the last day of term and with that comes the Thank You gift and card for the teacher(or teachers in our case, we have 5 between the two girls still at primary school!)

I am very proud of the fact that I have had mine(along with my next door neighbour and my sister-in-laws) made and ready to hand out about 3 weeks ago... I opted for a simple card as I was making so many and I painted, stamped and embossed the apple with the teacher's name on one side and from ??? on the other... I hope they liked them.

Well hope that whenever you get your summer holidays that you enjoy them and lets hope that they bring some much needed sunshine with them.

ANOTHER CANVAS...

I've done another canvas along the same lines as the butterfly ones that I love to make..and they are a great way to use up all your patterned paper scraps...you know the ones you keep because they might just be the colour/pattern you need for a project...haha..I have two drawers full of these!!

This one is slightly smaller...

I love stamping on tissue paper and mod podging it onto canvases as the white of the tissue all but disappears with the glue...

I also love these heart balloon stamps by Paperbag Studios who do some fab stamps..

One more day of school and then we are finished for 46 days and counting!!!

WEE CANVAS...

Just a wee canvas that I started a while ago...texture paste through the alpha stencil and lots of messy paints...it's been sitting on my desk for ages waiting for the right finishing touch and I had the quotation stamp set out for the card in the post below and it just seemed right...

Really should go now as I am supposed to be at potted sports by now...hope you all have a great day and really hope the rain stays off!!

VINTAGE TAGGY LOVLINESS....

Last week I made these tags for a lady who contacted me through Facebook.... she was organising her friend's hennie with a vintage theme.

7 tags with the quote "time to drink champagne and dance on the tables" which I typed up using my vintage manual typewriter...and miraculously no mistakes!!! I stamped some flowers over the tags with tattered rose distress ink, stamped up the names, shabbied up the edges and added some lace and pearls...

I really like how they turned out and she was delighted with them...

I have a card and gift to blog as well but will wait til tomorrow as they are for a birthday...

THANK YOU CANVAS...

A couple of weeks ago a very nice friend gave me a HUGE bag of blank canvases which she found when she had been clearing out... they had been her daughter's and they had been forgotten about and she was being ruthless with the clearing out:0)

I saw the start of a canvas on my travels through the world wide web and thought it was lovely...Think it was on the One Fine Day blogspot...

I covered the 12"x12" canvas with cut up scraps of patterned paper and then gave it a wash with some of Claudine's Landscape Green mixed with Canvas and some water... I then added a sequin waste mask using black and white and the negative side as well...

The beautiful doily pattern was done using a huge doily mask I have(can't remember where from)... I mixed up some texture paste with more of the green paint and then spread it over(I taped a couple of edges with masking tape to hold it)... looked great and I was very nervous peeling it of but it worked brilliantly as you can see...I finished it by rubbing my black inkpad round the edges...

I stamped up the huge butterfly by tattered angels which I have had for ages...I then added a few rub on butterflies, stamped the quote(which I found on the Internet) onto book pages and mod podged on...

I am going to give this to Eleanor as a thank you for the canvases which will be put to good use....

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY...

It's been a busy month so far so no time for blogging...kids been back at school for a week now after the Easter break....

The last day of the holidays was Morgan and Ellie's 14th and 13th birthdays...and as typical teenagers did not want to spend any time with us...lol...did manage to get a couple of photos of them both but I don't dare post them...haha!!! Instead I will show you the birthday cards I made for them...I saw this card the other week on Sarah's Cards blog and thought it was rather cool...I was originally just going to do it for Morgan and then decided it would look just as cool in girly colours too...I love the label maker sentiments and I always forget I have one til I see someone else using it so thanks for the inspiration Tracy

Still can't quite believe I have a 14 year old and a 13 year old...where does time go???

This one was for my little next door neighbour Cara who turned 9 this last week....It's inspired by this one by Emilie Chamel...I love her style of work...

A LITTLE BIRDIE TOLD ME...

This is another of my tutorial efforts....I made this and another similar one around Christmas time...i really wasn't feeling well...almost 5 weeks with flu so it took me a while:0))

I kept this one and gave the other to Sonja as a belated Christmas present. I forgot to photograph it but maybe she will show it to you on her blog if you ask her nicely!!

As soon as I saw the post on the Scattered Scarlet blog I knew I wanted to try it out...I ordered the stamps(and a couple more besides!!) and made two...The house is a stamp that my friend Judy stamped up a few times for me when I was over one day...it's just so cute!!

Anyway you can find the tutorial on this Scattered Scarlet blog post!!!

A GOOD HEART...

A few weeks ago I thought I would try out one of the tutorials over at A Sprinkle of Imagination using a heart...I thought I would do two slightly different ones with the intention of using one as a giveaway on my Facebook Page...

This is the first one and the second one started out the same but a slightly different colour and I didn't like it so it got changed to this one below which is a different take on the wedding canvas a few posts below...lol...

I love the stripey sides painted in black and white...

This is what I gave to Allan on Valentine's Day...I think I will add the date of our wedding to it just to finish it off...

Hope you haven't got too much snow wherever you are today... we seem to have loads!!!

KEEPING UP...

Yes Sonja, so far I am keeping up(with LOs anyway!!!)

This is my page for February for my Project Life album that I started this year...so far I am keeping up with the LOs but not so much with the 6x4 pockets...but at least a little bit more happened in February than January so I have something to journal about!

This is our cute new puppy which we should be getting near the end of April...he is a Tibetan Terrier that we have named Alfie..this being the only name we had for our fourth baby who turned out to be a girl(Niamh)!!

I have kick started my scrapbooking with an Art Class Workshop from twopeasinabucket by Wilna Furstenberg which I have to say I am really enjoying...
