DOCUMENTED LIFE PROJECT...WEEK 8

Week 8...I stuck some vintage music sheet onto my page and then Gelli printed straight onto it. !

I doodled the top and bottom since it wasn't big enough to cover the whole page. I stamped out some skulls onto the card stock I'd used to clean my brayer and cut them out. I used washi tape and stuck them to the top.

Wasn't sure about doodling over the tape as I felt it needed something else but not sure I like it. The journalling round the top of the skulls reads 'eat, sleep, row, repeat' which is a play on the song Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat by Fat Boy Slim, Riva Starr and Beardyman.

It's been very apt this week!

DOCUMENTED LIF PROJECT WEEK 7...

Still here...Week 7. Kept it simple as I was last minute due to our mid term break.

Covering up the good stuff..I used a gelli plate print which I cut into strips and stuck to the page. I then added some texture paste through a stencil which I'm still not sure about. I scraped yellow and green paint all over then added some stencilling and stamping.

Going undercover became Going Underground because I was listening to The Jam at the time. I used letter stickers then painted over the whole page with blue and peeled the stickers off. I actually re-added The Jam ones tho cos I made a mess pulling them off. Finished off with Gelly roll pen outlining.

Thanks for looking and thanks to admin for this great free project. I'm loving it. Xx

TECHNOLOGY...

Technology is wonderful right?

WRONG!!!!

I have researched printers until I don't know which way is up...Amazon, EBay, printer websites...I finally decided on one...this Brother MFC-J5720DW matched more or less everything I wanted and I ordered it from Amazon on Wednesday and less than 24 hours later it arrived so why wont it print what I want???

I had to move it nearer the router to connect wirelessly and moved it back again when it connected  but it still wouldn't print...Not being technical minded myself Clare from next door came through last night...we uninstalled it and then reinstalled it...had to wait until this morning to finish as I had to move it closer to the router again and BINGO it printed...excellent! But this is not the end of the saga...no, no, no....although it is printing normal size paper I can't get it to print custom sizes which is what I need it to do for wedding invitations!!!

Losing the will to live......HEEEEELP!!!

DOUCUMENTED LIFE PROJECT WEEK 5...

Not had a lot of time this week. I had a look at some videos and found one by Roben-Marie Smith. She makes it look so easy...mine is nowhere near as flowing as hers.

I use a wee gorjuss book for rolling my brayer in to clean it. I added some white spattered paint to to it so it would tie in with the background and I stamped some butterflies and cut them out.

I also added some punched out circles. Actually love how the page turned out. Now to get started on this week...no wait I have to go watch football first, make lasagne and brownies and have tea:-( x

I finally finished it...
I added all the names of my kids to it.

I think it was doing my Documented Life page last week that made me do it...It is now haning up in my kitchen and I love it.

DOCUMENTED LIFE PROJECT...WEEK 4...

I am so loving this journaling project over at Art to the 5th Academy...the tutors are all great and it's a totally FREE project...If you haven't already you should really go and join in...

I used some printed tissue on the base with a thin coat of gesso on top.

The big heart is cut from canvas and painted with Claudine Helmuth's dash of red and some text stamping over the top.

Since it was Robbie Burns' birthday this week I decided to write Auld Lang Syne all over the background. I then painted some wee hearts onto book paper and added initials of my closest friends  and stuck them down.

Once again thanks for looking, Kirsti xxx
