Here are my Documented Life Project pages for weeks 13, 14, 15, and 18...I have fallen so far behind I played catch up and then decided to carry on from week 18 so will have to go back and do weeks 16 and 17...

I have loads of other things to blog as well but I'll start with these and hopefully get more done later in the week.

A couple of weekends ago I had the pleasure of attending an all day class with the superb Kate Crane from The Kathryn Wheel in Middlesbrough with my friend Sonja.

We worked on some matchboxes, altering them using paint and ink techniques and of course Kate's new stamps which are available from Stampotique...I want the all!!

We had a great day with all the other ladies that do art. Kate is such a fantastic teacher...Can't wait to go again next time. xx

Here we go...week 9 and I'm still going strong and loving every minute of this challenge...

The February theme has been 'using layers you love' and the prompt for this week was to 'use at least 5 layers'.

I used 6 for each member of my family...I started with some printed tissue, then some washi tape, gesso, a painty layer, some stamping and finally the house and flowers, etc. I added our initials between each layer.

Last week Nina from Nina's Apartment had a Pinterest making evening where you could come  along to her workshops and actually make something you have pinned on Pinterest.
I have to say I probably do make quite a few things from my boards on Pinterest (I have 99 of them with over 5000 pins...eeek) but it was good to get out of the house for a couple of hours with some like minded people and some adult conversation....
Anyhoo I decided to make this canvas after watching a Christy Tomlinson video on YouTube when I realised I actually have the kit she was using and had never used I was stash busting as well as creating something. Sorry I can't find the link to the video as it is coming up as an error on my Pin...

Week 8...I stuck some vintage music sheet onto my page and then Gelli printed straight onto it. !

I doodled the top and bottom since it wasn't big enough to cover the whole page. I stamped out some skulls onto the card stock I'd used to clean my brayer and cut them out. I used washi tape and stuck them to the top.

Wasn't sure about doodling over the tape as I felt it needed something else but not sure I like it. The journalling round the top of the skulls reads 'eat, sleep, row, repeat' which is a play on the song Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat by Fat Boy Slim, Riva Starr and Beardyman.
It's been very apt this week!

Still here...Week 7. Kept it simple as I was last minute due to our mid term break.
Covering up the good stuff..I used a gelli plate print which I cut into strips and stuck to the page. I then added some texture paste through a stencil which I'm still not sure about. I scraped yellow and green paint all over then added some stencilling and stamping.
Going undercover became Going Underground because I was listening to The Jam at the time. I used letter stickers then painted over the whole page with blue and peeled the stickers off. I actually re-added The Jam ones tho cos I made a mess pulling them off. Finished off with Gelly roll pen outlining.

Thanks for looking and thanks to admin for this great free project. I'm loving it. Xx

Can't believe I'm still here...Week 6 was actually finished by Wednesday last week but with the kids being on mid term break I never got a chance to upload it.
Lots of layers this week.

 Stencilling, stamping,
book paper, washi tape
Thanks for to get on with week 7...half way there...

Technology is wonderful right?
I have researched printers until I don't know which way is up...Amazon, EBay, printer websites...I finally decided on one...this Brother MFC-J5720DW matched more or less everything I wanted and I ordered it from Amazon on Wednesday and less than 24 hours later it arrived so why wont it print what I want???
I had to move it nearer the router to connect wirelessly and moved it back again when it connected  but it still wouldn't print...Not being technical minded myself Clare from next door came through last night...we uninstalled it and then reinstalled it...had to wait until this morning to finish as I had to move it closer to the router again and BINGO it printed...excellent! But this is not the end of the, no, no....although it is printing normal size paper I can't get it to print custom sizes which is what I need it to do for wedding invitations!!!
Losing the will to live......HEEEEELP!!!

Not had a lot of time this week. I had a look at some videos and found one by Roben-Marie Smith. She makes it look so easy...mine is nowhere near as flowing as hers.

I use a wee gorjuss book for rolling my brayer in to clean it. I added some white spattered paint to to it so it would tie in with the background and I stamped some butterflies and cut them out.

I also added some punched out circles. Actually love how the page turned out. Now to get started on this wait I have to go watch football first, make lasagne and brownies and have tea:-( x

Remember this from way back in August last year...seriously can't believe it was that long ago...Well.....
I finally finished it...
I added all the names of my kids to it.

I think it was doing my Documented Life page last week that made me do it...It is now haning up in my kitchen and I love it.

I am so loving this journaling project over at Art to the 5th Academy...the tutors are all great and it's a totally FREE project...If you haven't already you should really go and join in...
I used some printed tissue on the base with a thin coat of gesso on top.

The big heart is cut from canvas and painted with Claudine Helmuth's dash of red and some text stamping over the top.

Since it was Robbie Burns' birthday this week I decided to write Auld Lang Syne all over the background. I then painted some wee hearts onto book paper and added initials of my closest friends  and stuck them down.
Once again thanks for looking, Kirsti xxx

Finished...I started off with distress inks and a blending tool but this wasn't bright enough for me so I changed to Dylusion spray inks. I then used a 12x12 circle stencil and ghosted with water.

Then I used a different circle stencil and sprayed ink through it. I was going to cut out the flowers from a piece of pretty tissue paper I found in my stash but I stuck one down and didn't like it, hence the reason there is only one.

Did the circles round the edge with paint and bottle tops and the rubber end of a pencil. I scraped texture paste through another stencil.

I wanted to use the lyrics from Somewhere Over The Rainbow as it's one of my favourites. I used my vintage typewriter to type it onto's not disappeared as much as I hoped it would. Lastly I stamped my favourite Banksy image at the bottom.
X was pointed out that I had used the wrong song should be I Can Sing a Rainbow! Must have been having one of those senior moments that people talk about!
