CRAFT JUST FOR ME...

Since I decided to stop doing craft fairs I still haven't really had time for 'craft for me' so last night I decided that I was going to take a bit of time out and have a go at Christy's canvas project for July using the mixed media kit which I have subscribed to for the last 6 months but so far have not had the time to use yet:0(
I love this use of stickers as masks...
The saying just popped into my head when I was watching the tutorial the other day so decided to just go with it...
I also love the way she uses rub-ons for texture and I LOVE white rub-ons...

Anyway if you are looking for a kit that's a wee bit different pop over to the Scarlet Lime shop and check it out...I have loved all my kits so far even though I've not used them yet...hopefully that will change soon as I have one last big order to complete and that's me(for now!)

Thanks for looking and have a great day:0)

THE TALE OF TWO BUNNY RABBITS...

 This is Matilda...

 This is Arthur...
Niamh got Matilda for her 7th Birthday last Wednesday(11 July) and on Saturday(14 July) poor Matilda just died....As you can imagine Niamh was very very upset about the whole episode...Matilda was such a lovely coothy bunny rabbit and liked a cuddle and a snuggle....

On Sunday we went into Dobbies and Niamh got another rabbit, this time a male one who she called Arthur....Arthur is lovely too but not as snuggly as Matilda and he is also a little more skittish...but he is a very cute little chap....xxx

PINTEREST....

Another challenge....make something from Pinterest at least once a week instead of just drooling over all the gorgeous, lovely, fabulous makes, etc on there....Sonja put this challenge to me so if there is anyone else out there who would like to take part please feel free to join in...if we get a few joiners we will have a set day for posting...

These are some cards I have made for teachers as we finish school on Friday for 7 weeks of summer holidays...yippeeee(for the first couple of weeks anyway and then I will probably be tearing my hair out wishing they were back at school as you do..lol...)
And this was my Pinterest inspiration....not too far from the original!!
Anyway, I hope some more people can join in and we might even put up one of those linky things so I can see your creations...

12 TAGS OF 2012 - FEBRUARY...

Okay so I am super excited that I have at last manged to finish a piece of craft for myself....hence the many photos...lol
This is my version of the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2012 for February....if you don't know what this is pop over and take a look...lots of techniques to learn...As you can see I definitely have not gone for a carbon copy...Most of the bits used are from my endless stash...you know those things you buy cos they are dirt cheap and might come in handy some day...well they did...skulls, stickers and metal embellishments...
As I said in my last post Sonja and I decided to do them as a swap so I have made two...they are not exactly the same tho as I didn't have two of everything but the basic principle is the same...

Love the skulls with the black stickles and the words is a play on the Bryan Adams song which I love so much...

Thanks for looking and hopefully it won't be too long before I am back with the next one!!!

LOVELY VINTAGE FINDS...

Well now I no longer have to create for craft fairs I have a little more time on my hands and it kinda feels nice(I do have a couple of outstanding orders that need doing tho) and I am enjoying it....
These bowls were something I purchased a few weeks ago from Nina's Apartment at the Vintage Fair in Aberdeen...love them...

And today I picked up these little cuties, also from Nina...
They are so sweet...and they along with a few other bits and pieces look fab on my dresser...I love vintage things and hope to try my hand at painting up some second-hand things in a vintage style soon...

I have also started the challenge Sonja and I set ourselves a couple of months which was to take part in the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2012 making one tag to swap and another to keep...I won't post the pic yet as I haven't passed it on to Sonja yet...xxx

FAIRS...

Last week I decided that the Taste of Grampian was going to be my last fair....I have found them to be quite stressful what with getting stuff ready for them and getting someone to look after the kids while I am at them as Allan is inevitably offshore on fair days...yesterday is the first one he has been home for in a long while...and although I enjoy them once I am there I feel the lead up is not worth it.
 Wedding Fair - Alford
 Candy Belle Vintiques
 Taste of Grampian
RGU - Best of British Fashion Show

I have also closed down the website as this was not generating the sales I had hoped...I will however keep the facebook page open and take orders for anyone wishing to purchase...I will also try to keep some off the shelf items in the photo albums...

But on a happier note I will now have more time to create things that I want to rather than I have to...so I am looking forward to some time for experimenting....Sonja and I thought it would be fun to do the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2012 as a swap and so far I am dismally behind having made exactly none of them....I am also looking forward to a bit more scrapbooking as I have also failed miserably in that department in the last couple of years...

Take care and have a great day...

50 YEARS....

I can't imagine being married for 50 years! We have only just reached our 10 year anniversary, although we have actually been together for 22 years....
This is my take on  a card that's in the latest Stampin' Up catalogue that I made for my friend Carrie to give to her mum and dad for reaching this wonderful milestone...
I've used a mixture of Stampin' Up products - this butterfly being one of their dies for the Big Shot...the blue card is embossed using one of their embossing folders and I think the scallop is one of their punches...the butterfly was overstamped with a script stamp by darkroomdoor which I love...
This is also another Stampin' up set which is great - stamp the image and cut it out with a punch - so easy...the script paper is from BoBunny...xxx

WHAT A MESS...

How is it I can make so much mess just to make one little card?

On another note I am doing the Twilight Walk tomorrow night in aid of Cancer UK....if anyone would like to make a donation my JustGiving page is over here ...all donations gratefully received with a massive thanks!!!

RUSTIQUES

Last Friday I went to Rustiques near Crathes Castle....what a gorgeous setting! I went to learn some paint techniques with Moira using Annie Sloan chalk paints and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it so if you are sitting on the fence about doing this course....GO FOR IT...

This is the sconce we made using the peeled/cracked paint effect....I think I may keep this outside beside my table with a citronella candle on it...
The second project we did was this photo frame which I have to say looks quite professional if I do say so myself...lots of lovely thick, gooey paint and some dark wax worked in...
The third and my favourite was this plaque...a base coat with a top coat then sanded and this gorgeous stencil on top...I am in love with this one and now have the painting bug....just which colours do I buy tho....I have my charity shop coffee table to do and my lovely freegled dresser...

And of course the shop is stocked to the rooftops with lots and lots and lots of gorgeous knick knacks and bits and pieces for your home....xxx

Thought I would share my some pictures of my table from the Candy Belles Vintiques Fair at the weekend....It was a lovely day and so busy...
All the birds in this picture are now sold apart from one, the 3 canvases in front of the suitcase are also sold...
A couple of the wreaths have gone and the jubilee triangle bunting is also sold...
Lots of the small hearts have also gone to new homes...
I am loving the bunting that Janet from I heart art had strung up behind my stall...I so wish I could sew properly....
Can't wait for the next one now....hope the sun is shining wherever you are today - it is here(for now) in this part of Aberdeenshire!!

Not necessarily in that order.....
Sneak peek of the wedding range that I am working on at the moment....I have a wedding fair this Saturday 21st April at The Transport Museum in Alford from 12-4pm if you can come along....these will also hopefully be available to order on the website after that!!!
Yesterday was a pretty special day here...It was Morgan's 13th birthday and Ellie's 12th birthday and it was also mine and Allan's 10th wedding anniversary...these are the beautiful flowers I got from my sister-in-law Jen and my brother Calum...they are just divine....
And this is the birthday duo engrossed in the underwater camera at the Macduff Aquarium....
Hope the Easter holidays have been fab for everyone but roll on Tuesday when they all go back to school!!!
