I CAN SHARE NOW...

This is the project I have been working on and I apologise to my niece for taking so long...

This is for my great nephew Brody who was born in September...

He is such a little cutie-pie...

These took many coats of paint and lots of patience lining up the masking tape right across the five letters...

I then stood them up and realised the 'D' was upside down...aaarghh....

Not to worry...some blue tac on the bottom and it was standing up straight;0)

I do like these a lot and my niece and her partner were very pleased with them too..

Hope you had a great weekend!!

BIRTHDAY WISHES...

It was my next door neighbour Clare's birthday the other week and this is what I made for her...
Card made using washi tape and a Stampin Up punch and stamps and the colour spritzer tool for a wee bit of distressing...

Stamp on the heart is from Unity...

I do have a rather sweet thing to show you but will have to wait til I pass it over as it's a present for my great nephew who was only born in September...very slow with the gift I know but I have been really busy with the kids, etc the last couple of months and not had much time for crafting lately...

TTFN and enjoy the weekend...another VERY busy one for us again!

MORE FINISHED PROJECTS...

I found an upcycled wreath on Pinterest so I thought I would have a go...I really like how it turned out...I am toying with maybe a few more flowers at the bottom and would like to do a rolled one but I just for the life of me cannot do them...I always ending up throwing them across the room and swearing:0))

This project is one I did when Sonja came over a couple of Sundays ago for a wee mini crop..just me and her!! She was working on a LO and I thought I would try something out of the Craft Stamper magazine...I usually get it, ooh and aah over everything for days and never end up trying anything out so I am pleased I managed to finish this...

They used a chipboard snowflake covered in glitter but I didn't have one so used this crochet one that I found in a Quirky kit that hadn't been used....

Thanks for looking...x

LIBBY'S 10TH BIRTHDAY...

Sunday was Libby's 10th birthday...

On Saturday she had a joint skating party with her friend Isabelle whose birthday was the weekend before...they had a half hour coaching session which they thoroughly enjoyed...

Then off they went under their own steam...Libby and Charley were naturals...I think that must be all the roller blading they have done in the last 6 or 7 months...

Libby and Isabelle enjoying a silly moment!!

This was the lovely cake that Carrie made for them...I did the invitations..see previous post for those...

Oops a daisy...there was quite a lot of that!!!

All in all a very good party...so good that the girls and I went again yesterday...first time on the ice for nearly 30 years...eeek...and I have to confess to sticking close to the barrier...I did fall over and smack my knee on the ice which was quite painful but it seems okay today...

So that's the birthdays over for another year...now we just have Christmas and panto season to look forward to...this will be Libby's first year in panto and she is enjoying all the rehearsals so far and looking forward to performing....

FINISHED PROJECTS...

At last a couple of finished projects from my studio...Love the canvas...started by covering with vintage music pages then used an old credit card to spread the blue paint and then added some white to the mix but I decided it was a little dark so added a paler blue...

I then punched (Stampin Up punch) some paper scraps to make bunting and used some words I cut from magazines and some more words stamped on the same scrap I used for the bunting...

The LOVE and the wee birdie are Tim Holtz and stamped on tissue paper then mod podged down...so much easier than stamping straight onto the canvas as you always end up losing some of the image....and that's it finished...

Invitations are finished ready for the girls to take back to school...the dancer is by Lyndsay Mason Design and perfect for the girls...I have tried some masking and ghosting using Dylusion Inks and That Special Touch Of masks with mixed results but I like how they have turned out...

The paper mache torso has some trim and wings added to it but is not finished just yet...

WORKS IN PROGRESS...

Since moving into this lovely new 'studio' I have had a bit more room and time to craft for myself...I now have two tables - one for me and one for orders...makes life so much simpler...
Birthday invitations for my middle daughter Libby and her friend Isabelle who are having a joint skating party next month(they both go to dance lessons, hence the ballerina!)...have loads of these drying at the minute and have very messy hands...and I have also just mastered ghosting...yayyy...

This has been sitting on my shelf for eons and I seen one as I was zipping thru cyberspace the other day so set to work adding dictionary pages to it and I have some wings drying and will add lace, embellishments, etc and I bought some super grungy looking wooden cotton reels from Simply Create today (50% off everything instore) that I will sit it on..

and last but not least a canvas that I have had covered with music sheet for ages and I have painted with a couple of different blues and some white, added some bunting and used the fab Sew Stamper roller ink to get the curvy lines...these are brilliant and I NEED to get some more of them...it came in one of my Scarlet Lime kits...

That's me for today...Thanks for looking

12 TAGS OF 2012...

Last week I managed not one but two tags for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2012 for swapping with Sonja...
This first one is the September one using metal...this is sheetmetal I found while transferring rooms..not sure it worked as well as the stuff he used but hey it was free...
This is how it turned out with the application of alcohol inks... After this step Tim buffed with steel wool but not having any I just left it as it was and I have to say I really like how it turned out...
The typewriter stamp is from Unity borrowed from Sonja and also not having many metal embellishments I have had to improvise but that's what it's all about right? The numbers came from my Scarlet Lime mixed media kit and the letters and other bits and pieces from my stash...

This is the second one I did and this is July 2012...The principles used are the same but different stamps and embellishments(forgot to take progress pics fro this one...oops! Will try harder next time!!)

So that's me for now...I will be working on some birthday invitations for Libby and her friend Isabelle's skating party next month and I have an order for 5 skull and crossbones name plaques and I am also working on a mixed media canvas...

Take care and have a great October hols(that's our last day of school for two weeks now)

FINISHED...

Finally got my stuff moved through...it's only taken me three days...
Look how much floor space there is for some new projects I have up my sleeve;0)

Believe it or not there is still loads of stuff in the other room(most of which is not craft related so looking for somewhere else for it)...please don't look at all my scabby furniture...couldn't justify kitting the whole room out in 'nice' furniture so am making do and there will be some refurbishing going on as I go along...

I have two and a half bin liners for the skip and a couple of bags stuffed with some stuff for the school art cupboard...

I am thinking that I can finally get on with some real work now as well as doing some of my own art projects which have been sorely missing in the last year.

It's a bit of a treat having it finished finally as we have had the most horrible year since last October and more devastating news last week which has totally thrown me again.

Anyway hope all is well wherever you are and give your loved ones a hug tonight even if they don't deserve it cos you never know what is round the corner..take care...xx

ANOTHER WEDDING ORDER...

This is another wedding order that I had from a lovely bride called Claire who it turns out has married the bride in the post belows brother...

This lovely heart is huge..30cm I think and it's been painted in the shabby style with a rubbed back top layer which I am quite liking at the moment...it was very nerve wracking doing the wording on it and I have to admit to messing it up...only once though:0)

This was a present from the bride to someone else who is getting married this weekend...

and last but not least these are some cute personalised hearts...
which I think look awfully sweet on the gift backs for her bridesmaids...
Have quite enjoyed doing these...

PICTURES....AT LAST...

These are some piccies of the bits and pieces I made for my next door neighbours wedding which we unfortunately couldn't attend due to being in Edinburgh for the Tattoo(see the post below)...It sounded like a lot of fun and I'm sad we missed it....

Signs...I used the Cricut to cut out the letters and mountboard for the base...was very tricky trying to work out the right sizes for the letters...I went through a lot of trial and error with these...

Bunting...I cut the first one out from calico fabric using the Big Shot and then stamped with a large text stamp and the second one is hand cut and also made from calico with a lovely red heart stamped in the middle...

Cards...The bridesmaid one is made from one I seen on Pinterest...it caught my eye and I thought it would make a nice wedding card...

Confetti...These were made using up a 6x6 pad of papers and then edged with vintage photo distress ink...they are actually quite tricky til you get the hang of it...

and a Thank You bunting for the Thank You cards...

That's it for today...I hope Blogger is nicer to me in the future and will let me upload my photos...xx
